Bio53 мили – ширина Берингова пролива в самой узкой его части. Расстояние от Москвы до моей родной Рязани в два раза больше, чем от мыса Дежнёва до мыса Принца Уэльского. А мы привыкли считать, что Америка так далеко от России!
Точно так же мы привыкли думать, что русские и американцы совершенно разные. Конечно, разные. Но и общего у нас тоже много.
Вот я и хочу писать о разностях и похожестях, о культурном шоке, межкультурных отношениях и о «своей» Америке.
Ну и заодно держать родных и друзей по обе стороны Атлантики в курсе своих похождений.

53 miles is the width of Bering strait in its narrowest part. It’s only half the distance from Moscow to my hometown of Ryazan. Yet, we tend to think that Russia is so far away from the US.
Also, we tend to think that Russians and Americans are extremely different. Of course we are! But still, we have much in common, too.
So I am going to write about differences and similarities, about culture shock, intercultural relationships and America the way I see it.
This is also a way of keeping my friends and family on both sides of the Atlantic informed on what’s going on in my life.
